SunStateFootball Top 100: 41-50

Senior year film is in, the playoffs are over, and there is a little over a month til signing day, here is the final top 100 for the state of Florida. Today we continue with players ranked between 41 and 50.

41. QB Trevor Siemian, Olympia

Siemian had a tremendous senior season as Olympia won their first ever district title(taken away by ineligible player). Siemian showed plus athleticism and improved arm strength while improving as a field general. Siemian is committed to Northwestern and expected to be an early enrollee.

42. ATH Jarred Haggins, Lakeland

Haggins was a QB in high school and could easily play there at the D-1 level, however he is expected to change positions at FSU. Safety or wide receiver appear to be his future and we like his size and athletic ability at both spots. We think his ceiling is at S.

43. S Demar Dorsey, Boyd Anderson

One of the fastest players in the state, Dorsey has great length, he will need to add some weight and strength, but the tools are there to be an elite DB at the next level. Dorsey is all about upside and his future is up to him. Dorsey was an early commit to UF, but is looking around a little.

44. RB Roy Finch, Niceville

Finch led Niceville to the state title game as a senior, he has deep speed and a powerful frame. Finch's one issue is a lack of ideal height, that will probably prevent him from being an every down player at the next level. He can be moved to the slot and get some carries as a change of pace back. Finch is committed to Oklahoma.

45. S Jeremy Deering, Leto

Deering has flown under the radar because he is not from a winning program in Tampa. Area coaches are well aware of what this elite athlete brings to the table. Deering could play RB, WR, S, or perhaps grow into an OLB, he has legit speed and can flat makes plays on both sides of the ball. His recruitment is heating up right now with FSU, Rutgers, USF, and Purdue.

46. WR James Louis, Atlantic

Louis has been a consistent play-maker at the WR spot, but more than a few actually like him on the defensive side of the ball(ceiling CB, no brainer S). Regardless, this is a 5'11 player that can run and has a knack for making plays. He is committed to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes may have to hold off UF here.

47. CB Keion Payne, St. Thomas

Payne has the elite size that schools are looking for at the CB spot. He benefited from a transfer to STA where he received great coaching. Payne might be a S down the road, but will have every opportunity to make his mark at CB early at Miami. His size, bravado, and ability to play bump and run are a perfect fit for the Canes.

48. LB Kevin Nelson, Gainesville

Nelson is another player that plays with a lot of confidence, he is not the biggest nor fastest backer in the state, but he makes a lot of plays and is consistent. Nelson projects to MLB and we expect him to fight for a starting spot at Miami sooner rather than later.

49. WR Javon Bell, Ribault

This is an elite weapon whose recruitment has been spotty because of grade concerns. There is no question he has difference making ability at the next level with 4.4 speed and sick ball skills. He may head to JUCO where he will emerge again in two years. Several programs have stuck with him including FIU.

50. DE B.J. Butler, Osceola

Nice sized athlete that projects to DE, but could play some LB as well. Physically he has a lot of tools, but he is a little raw because he has played so many different positions in his high school career. Butler is committed to Georgia, but Louisville's hire of Charlie Strong brings them firmly into the mix, perhaps the favorite. Recommended Stories
