N.J. NFTC: Top 5 Defensive Backs

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- FOX Sports NEXT takes a look at the top five defensive backs in Sunday's Nike Football Training Camp.

The Nike Football Training Camp stopped in northern New Jersey Sunday and there was some strong showings at quarterback. Here are the five who stood out to FOX Sports NEXT.

1. Troy Vincent, The Gilman School, Baltimore
Skinny: Vincent, a Scout 300 member, was fluid in coverage and did not need to get overly physical to lock down receivers. He gave up one reception all day in true 1-on-1s -- to The Opening invitee Curtis Samuel on a quick slant.

2. Minkah Fitzpatrick, St. Peter's Prep, Jersey City N.J.
Skinny: The class of 2015 standout is a big, physical ball hawk. He didn't get the chance to face many of the top receivers at the event, but won the majority of his exchanges. Fitzpatrick was impressive in forcing receivers to the sidelines and tightening the throwing windows for the quarterbacks.

3. Jeray Demby, Woodbury (N.J.) High
Skinny: From the same school as incoming Alabama cornerback Anthony Averett, Demby baited quarterbacks into interceptions and only struggled against quicker receivers and elaborate routes. The longer the quarterback had to throw, the more separation receivers got against the 6-foot-1 safety.

4. Ahmad Thomas, St. Peter's Prep, Jersey City, N.J.
Skinny: Thomas, a class of 2015 prospect, was one of the surprises of the day with his consistent ability to stick on a receiver and deflect passes. He matched Fitzpatrick in many areas and displayed impressive leaping ability.

5. William Solomon, Xavier High, New York
Skinny: Solomon has the hips and agility of a safety but was very competitive when keeping receivers in front of him. He took advantage of multiple bad balls for interceptions and did well in tracking the football.
