Burke, Hardaway, Morgan at B1G Kickoff

The three veterans answer the same three questions about expectations for Michigan and the conference this year.

U-M Sophomore Guard Trey Burke

On being named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team ...
"It is definitely an honor but going into the season I know we have more important things to think about, and as far as this team I think we can go a long way. That is a blessing, that is an honor and I appreciate the recognition, but I'm focused on winning and doing what is best for this team."

On being in good company with other Preseason All-Big Ten members ...
"It is an honor. Guys like Tim Frazier and Aaron Craft are great point guards in the conference. It goes to show what hard work can do for you. Like I said, it is a blessing. Just to be in a category and be compared to those guys and those caliber of players means a lot."

On Michigan being ranked No. 5 in the national preseason coaches poll ...
"It's good that we're ranked that high, but it's also bad at the same time. This team knows how to stay level headed. We have a young group of guys, but we also have a group of seniors that know what it takes to get through the season and get to the tournament. Like I said, it's good that we're getting that type of recognition right now, but I know that with that type of recognize can come that bad of recognition as well. We have a target on our back and we're ready to get the season started."

On three Big Ten teams being ranked in the national preseason top five ...
"It says a lot about this conference. I personally felt like we were one of the best conferences last year. With teams like Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State returning the type of players that they're returning -- it goes to show how tough this conference is and how you have to bring you're 'A' game every night, day in and day out. It's kind of like how Coach Beilein says, it's the SEC of football. Like I said, it's good to be amongst these type of teams, but we have to bring it."

U-M Junior Guard Tim Hardaway Jr.

On experiencing Big Ten Media Day for the second straight year ... "
It's different because there are a lot more things you have to do as an upperclassmen. They expect a lot out of you since you are older -- more of a vet now. Last year, I was a newcomer here and I didn't really know what to expect. Now I know what to expect and it has been fun."

On Michigan being ranked No. 5 in the national preseason coaches poll ...
"It's great having that high of a ranking in the preseason, but we're still working hard. We're not all into the hype right now -- we're trying to stay as humble as we can and work as hard as we can. We're taking each day at a time to get better."

On three Big Ten teams being ranked in the national preseason top five ...
"It speaks a lot not only about now but about the future. This league has come a long way to compete with the ACC and the Big East and Big 12; we're really up there right now and it shows with having three teams in the top five right now. It shows that this league is tough and it's one of the best leagues out there."

U-M Senior/Junior Forward Jordan Morgan

On attending Big Ten Media Day ...
"It has been a cool experience being around all of these good players and coaches. I got to interview for the Big Ten and it's just fun to be here with my teammates and enjoy this environment."

On Michigan being ranked No. 5 in the national coaches poll ...
"I hope we can earn that ranking when it comes down to it. For all that it's worth, it's pretty cool, but it's not worth much if you don't win games. We just need to keep our same attitude, keep working hard and we'll be okay."

On three Big Ten teams being ranked in the national preseason top five ...
"It highlights the competitiveness that has always been there in the Big Ten. There have always been good teams -- you always had the opportunity to lose to anyone, no matter what game it was. It could be the last team in the Big Ten, it could end up being a close game. You always have to bring your best game in this conference because any team can beat any team."
