Clarke Was Ready When Cameo Came

Dominic Clarke lost a training camp battle to start at cornerback this fall, but he was ready when the call came Saturday. The sophomore from Frederick, Md., stepped in for the suspended Travis Howard and was one of the most impressive defenders on a young Ohio state defense that pitched a shutout.

When Dominic Clarke was beaten out by a slim margin by Bradley Roby for the open starting cornerback job this fall camp, Ohio State cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson told Clarke not to get down on himself.
