| Peake is physical and aggressive. Peake supports the run very well from his free saety position. He has good range and fundamentals. Peakse also shows good instincts in both the run and passing game. He reads the quarterback well and shows a good break on the ball. Peake has good leaping ability and timing to come up with the big play. |
| Biography: |
| C.J. Peake will be a three-year varsity starter in 2006. He started his sophomore and junior years at Meadowdale High in Dayton and has since transferred to Trotwood-Madison. "I was awarded team MVP this last season with trophies for defense, offense and all-around. As safety, I had two block kicks, five pass break-ups, three sacks, 119 tackles and six intercessions. As backup running back, my junior season stats were 76 carries for 800 yards, and 12 TDs."
Peake reports a 2.65 core GPA and awaits his Dec. ACT retake after initially scoring 16.
Peake: "When the ball is in the air, I believe it's mine. My favorite part is hitting, and I hit hard when I tackle. I have the advantage of being big and being able to run fast as a safety. The speed just comes," he said. "I'm working on my agility with ladders for my footwork, and my one-on-one techniques. I'm also trying to lower my forty time by running in the swimming pool, with a parachute and on the treadmill--I put it on incline so it's like running uphill.
Coach's Comments - "C.J. is a special football player. He has the speed to play safety and the size to play linebacker. He's extremely physical and he's a playmaker."
