Scouting Report: To put it simply, Akers is a football player. Scrappy at the line on both sides of the ball, Akers has a good understanding of what it takes to make a difference. Offensively, he is a little better at pass blocking thanks to his great footwork and lateral movement. He is a to the whistle type of player. Defensively, he is a good run stuffer in reading/reacting to plays, but his best asset is understanding how to keep opponents off his body.
