| AN OVERVIEW
A two-year starter for St. Joseph’s, Evan Turner amassed a personal best 25 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals per game as a senior. During his junior campaign, he averaged 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Turner also was instrumental in helping the Chargers win regional and sectional championships.
Turner was a first-team all-state recipient, as well as an all-city honoree. He garnered East Suburban Catholic Conference MVP honors and was named the Suburban Life Player of the Year.
Turner is the son of Iris and James Turner. His hobbies include reading, listening to music and playing golf.
AS A FRESHMAN
• Averaged 27.1 mpg., 8.5 ppg., and 4.4 rpg.
• In NIT games, he averaged 31.4 mpg., 10.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg. and 2.4 spg.
• Scored 37 points vs. Mississippi (17) and UMass (20) in New York in the semifinals and final of the 2008 NIT ... made 11 of 18 shots (.611), with 14 rebs., 9 assists and 6 steals in final two games of season
• Finished second on the team in assists (98) and third in steals (47)
• In conference play, handed-out 50 assists and added 156 pts., 21 steals and 85 rebs. in 18 games
• Scored 11 pts and grabbed 8 rebs, all defensive, with 3 assists in 36 min vs. Dayton in NIT quarterfinal (3/26/08) ... made 5-6 FTs
• Led the Buckeyes with 7 rebs at Indiana (2/26/08) ... added 13 pts, 4 assists and 2 steals against the Hoosiers
• Posted 16 pts, 6 assists and a career-high 11 rebs for the Buckeyes against Michigan (2/17/08) ... second double-double of his career
• 3-consecutive games with double-digit points to end season ... 15 games with 10 or more points as a rookie
• Led Ohio State with 7 rebs and 7 assists at Penn State (1/29/08)
• Posted 14 pts, 2 assists and 1 steal to help lead the Buckeyes to a win over Illinois (1/22/08)
• Recorded his first career double-double against Tennessee (1/19/08) with a career-high 21 pts ... also set career bests in minutes (37), FGs (9), FGA (15) and def. rebounds (8)
• Set personal records with 12 attempts and 10 made foul shots vs. UMBC (12/29/07) |
