Biography:
PRO: A relentless blocker, with the ability to get open as a receiver, Hartsock enters his second season with Titans after being claimed off waivers from the Colts in Week 8 of last season. After recovering from a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the first 10 games of the 2006 season (six with Colts, four with Titans) Hartsock jumped into the rotation playing in six games with three starts. Hartsock went on to record a career-high six receptions for 68 yards. In two and a half seasons with the Colts, Hartsock played in 23 games with three starts and totaled six receptions for 41 yards in a reserve role. In 2005, Hartsock played in seven games, posting two receptions for eight yards. In 2004, Hartsock played in a career-high 16 games with three starts, totaling a career-high four receptions for 33 yards. Hartsock also saw action in two playoff contests as a reserve in 2004. The Ohio State alum was originally drafted by the Colts in the third round (68th overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft. TITANS TIDBITS: • Driving tractors at the tender age of nine and working on his family farm in Chillicothe, Ohio, Hartsock learned work ethic and responsibility. Hartsock says that he applies that work ethic to every aspect of his life and it’s a major factor for his successes. • During the off-season Hartsock started the first phase of various fundraisers (golf scramble, raffles and auctions) that will provide high school students in his hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio with college scholarships. • Hartsock knew that his decision to attend Ohio State would be supported because his mother, father, wife and some aunts and uncles all attended the university. • A fanatic of the reality show “American Idol,” Hartsock owns all the CD’s of every finalist since the existence of the show. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: IN 2006, claimed off waivers from Colts on October 26 and played in six games with three starts with Titans. Totaled career-high six receptions for 68 yards. Was inactive four games (10/29-11/19) with a hamstring injury. • Against New England (12/31), tied career-high with two receptions for career-high 28 yards. IN 2005, played in seven games, posting two receptions for eight yards. Also saw action on special teams. • Against Arizona (1/1), recorded season-high two receptions for eight yards. IN 2004, as a rookie played in all 16 games with three starts, totaling a career-high four receptions for 33 yards. Hartsock also saw action in two playoff contests as a reserve. • Against San Diego (12/26), tied for season-high two receptions for season-high 21 yards. COLLEGE: • Was two-year starter at Ohio State while playing in 51 games. Totaled 58 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns. • As senior, earned first team All-Big Ten while posting career-high 33 receptions for 290 yards with two touchdowns. • Majored in biology. PERSONAL: • Married to Amy, couple resides in Nashville with daughter Whitney (3/18/07). • Attended Unioto High School and played tight end, linebacker, running back and kicker earning first-team All-Ohio honors as senior.
