| Versatility and strength are his two best attributes. Herron is tough between the tackles and runs with very good power. In fact, he is one of those backs that plays bigger than he is. Herron prefers to lower the boom rather then attempt to make a move in the open field. He is not afraid to take on linemen and linebackers, making him a tough opponent when running between the tackles. He runs with a good lean and has good leg strength. |
| Biography: |
| As a junior, Herron rushed for over 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns; Herron bench presses 355, squats 550 and vertically jumps 37".
Herron reports a 2.8 core GPA and a 22 ACT.
Herron: "I'm a downhill runner--I'm hard to hit and hard to lay hands on. I want to work on everything, but mostly my blocking so that I'll be stronger at my position," he said.
Coaches Comment: “I wouldn’t trade “Boom” for any running back in Ohio.
“Boom" is Danny Herron’s nick-name and that’s exactly how he runs the football. When Danny runs the ball, you’d better be prepared to hit and be hit. Danny is tough, he has the acceleration, the vision and speed to be an outstanding running back at the next level. I think the thing that sticks out to me the most is that Dan Herron isn’t a prima donna. Some kids are great on the field but not so great off the field because they read too many press clippings but Danny Herron is just the opposite. You won’t find a more humble young man. He’s been a joy to coach.” Warren G. Harding Coach McDaniels
