| Biography: |
The Vikings may not have needed an immediate contributor at safety, but they liked Dustin Fox’s versatility enough to make him their third-round draft pick in 2005. He will likely be a backup at safety and contributor on special teams in his rookie season.
College: Played in 47 games with 37 starts, 28 as a cornerback. Was second-team All-Big Ten in 2004. Had seven career interceptions and 217 tackles. One of Ohio State’s leading tacklers and interceptors during his tenure. A three-time OSU scholar-athlete as a communications major.
High School: First-team Division I Associated Press All-Ohio selection on defense as a junior and senior. SuperPrep first-team All-American as a three-year starter at safety. Had 12 interceptions in his high school career. Also started at tailback as a senior and rushed for 1,351 yards and 10 touchdowns and 2,500 yards and 38 touchdowns in his career. Four-year letterwinner in track.
Personal: Brother Derek played football at Penn State and for the Indianapolis Colts. Uncles Kenny Kuhn, Dick Kuhn, Mark Stier and Tim Fox played football at Ohio State (all started, and Tim was a first team All-American). Married to Nicole Troyer.
