| Biography: |
Mike Nugent was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 47th overall.
JUNIOR/2003: Had another fine season, going 16 of 19 in the field goal department (long of 53 yards) and 38 of 38 on PATs. His 16 field goals gives him a career total of 48, leaving him 11 shy of the OSU record of 59. He will start one more season at kicker for OSU in 2004 and take a shot at that record.
SOPHOMORE/2002: Returned as the starting kicker and had a monster season, going 25 of 28 on field goals including a record-setting run of 24 straight field goals. His consecutive FG streak and his 25 FGs on the year were OSU records. Won first-team All-Big Ten and was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, presented annually to the nation's top kicker. Was also 45 of 46 on PATs, and had 120 total points, most ever in a season for an OSU kicker.
FRESHMAN/2001: Got to split time as a true freshman with Josh Huston, hitting on 7 of 14 field goals and 27 of 29 PATs. Solidified his spot as a starter later in the season.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Was a fine QB and K at Centerville High School. Selected Ohio State over Pitt in January of 2001. Was 13 of 17 on field goals in high school. Brother Kevin plays soccer at OSU. Majoring in Transportation/Logistics.
