| Thompson is a threat to score any time he touches the ball with great moves and blazing football speed. Thompson has a great feel for the football when running his routes and in the open field he maintains his speed into and out of his cuts. He needs to be a little more consistent with the ball and focus on every play to ensure his routes are run properly before the ball is released. |

Ran three straight 4.28 forty times at the Scout.com Jacksonville Combine on Sunday April 17, 2005.
As a junior (12-1 season), Deonte turned in a 35 catch season for 767 yds. He also had 12 kick returns for 515 yds and two touchdowns.
Thompson: "I have great speed and hands and I'm a great at running my routes. Nobody can stop me. I need to focus on being more consistent on every play," Thompson said. "I need to run every play equally hard and I really working on that right now. I'm focusing a lot on the mental side of the game besides taking extra time in my drills."
