| Ted Ginn exploded in the second half of the 2004 season, proving to be every bit worth the hype that accompanied him as a prep superstar. Ginn moved to wide receiver before the season and ended with 25 catches for 359 yards and two touchdowns. Ginn also saw 13 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Ginn shined on punt returns as he averaged 25.6 yards per return (15 returns for 384 yards) and an OSU and Big Ten record four touchdowns, including a long of 82 yards against Michigan. Ginn was named Big Ten special teams player of the week for Nov. 20 after his performance against Michigan and for Nov. 6 after his performance at Michigan State, where he had a punt return for a touchdown in addition to a touchdown catch and run. Ginn had an outstanding Alamo Bowl game as he saw some carries at quarterback and had 8 carries for 40 yards and six catches for 78 yards and one touchdown. Ginn is perhaps the nation's most exciting player and will compete for postseason honors the remainder of his OSU career.
