Things didn't look good for the Ohio State hockey team through two periods Friday night, but a 49-second span of the third changed things for the Buckeyes. OSU got three goals in that time frame, paving the way for a 4-2 win against Western Michigan in Value City Arena that was the Buckeyes' first in series openers this season.   Full Story

A nightmare start to the 2009-10 hockey season turned around for Ohio State on Friday night in Nationwide Arena. The Buckeyes kept the pressure on No. 3 Denver, got a lucky goal early and then played for 60 minutes on the way to a 4-0 win. Cal Heeter made 39 saves and earned his first career shutout as OSU improved to 1-3 on the year.   Full Story

A week of waiting to find out its NCAA tournament fate ended up being with it for the Ohio State hockey team. The Buckeyes let out a cheer when their name popped up on the screen during the NCAA selection show on Sunday afternoon, ending a three-year tourney drought. OSU draws the tournament's No. 1 overall seed, Boston University, on Saturday.   Full Story

The season appeared to be over for the No. 18 Ohio State men's hockey team when it lost in the quarterfinals of the CCHA tournament last weekend, but the Buckeyes appear to have been given a reprieve. The Buckeyes look as though they will be one of the teams in the NCAA tournament when the 16-team field is announced Sunday afternoon.   Full Story

A roller-coaster season of redemption for the No. 14 Ohio State hockey team likely ended in crushing fashion Sunday night. Despite OSU dominance, Alaska scored with 50.7 seconds to play to earn a 1-0 win that gave the Nanooks a 2-1 series victory during the quarterfinals of the CCHA tournament. Ohio State had 43 shots on goal but could not solve goaltender Chad Johnson.   Full Story

Nothing is easy about having to travel to Alaska to play hockey, let alone at playoff time. The hometown Nanooks are tough to beat in Fairbanks, and the trip itself can be a bear. Just ask OSU goaltender Dustin Carlson, who nearly missed a flight. But with everyone present in the Last Frontier, the No. 14 hockey team gets down to business as it continues the CCHA postseason.   Full Story

The No. 14 Ohio State hockey team achieved its main goal, defeating Bowling Green by a 7-1 score to win its best-of-three CCHA playoff series. But with a trip to Alaska to continue the postseason on tap, the Buckeyes will be in a bind to start thanks to a second-period fight that left one player injured and two more suspended for at least the opener.   Full Story

Everything the Ohio State hockey team had on the line Saturday night in Value City Arena blew up in the Buckeyes' faces when Miami dominated most of the game on the way to a 7-5 win to end each team's regular season. The No. 15 Ohio State men's hockey team made major strides on its postseason dash Friday night, beating rival Miami (Ohio), the nation's No. 7 team, by a 6-2 score in Oxford. With the win, OSU moves a point away from securing a first-round playoff bye and improves its NCAA tournament positioning.
