Willie Mobley, the 6-foot-2, 263-pound four-star defensive tackle has helped lead Eden Prairie, Minn., to a perfect 6-0 start. Mobley has 27 tackles and nine sacks so far.
Although Mobley continues to deny a leader, he does have a list of schools he'd like to visit. "I haven't set up any trips yet, but plan to do it soon," Mobley said. "I've been real busy and didn't want to set up a date and have to cancel.
"I'm thinking of visiting Ohio State and Wisconsin," he said. "I'll probably go to Arizona for sure and maybe even Tennessee. Those are the ones I'm thinking the most about right now."
The school that is recruiting Mobley the hardest is Ohio State. "They keep in contact with me the most and I like the coaches a lot. I have a good relationship with (running back) coach Dick Tressel and (defensive coordinator) Jim Heacock. They are nice guys and remind me of my head coach. They are just real football guys and family guys."
Another coaching staff that Mobley has already developed a good relationship with is Arizona's. "I love their coaching staff," he said. "The coaches there just seem pretty hip and like guys I could talk to about anything. They have a real good relationship with their players too.
"I like Arizona because it's a program on the rise," he said. "There's a lot of talent on the West Coast and I think it'll all come together for them."
Another Pac-10 team that Mobley likes is UCLA, although the Bruins haven't offered him yet. "I don't think they thought I'd be eligible and are still waiting on their admissions," he said. "I have senior classes that I still need to take and they are waiting to make sure everything clears."
Mobley (2.7 GPA/Oct. 20 ACT) insists his academics will be fine. "This will be my second time taking the ACT and I just want to keep taking it since it's not like I have a 3.8 GPA or anything."
Wisconsin just lost to Illinois last Saturday (Oct. 6) but Mobley remains very impressed by the Badgers. "They are doing really well and had a tough loss," he said. "But that's football. Anything can happen.
"Overall Wisconsin has been playing really well and I don't think anybody thought they'd be as good as they are this year."
Tennessee is another top program that is on Mobley's radar. "They are a top-ranked team and are always a great team," he said. "They have amazing fan support and I'd love to go for a game there and see what that's like.
"I want to take my trips and make sure I fit in with all the people and the surroundings," he said. "I want to make sure I can have a good future after football too."
Mobley is ranked as the No. 19 defensive tackle in the country by Scout.com.
