A player who opened plenty of eyes at this year's Scout.com combine in
Louisville (Ky.) was linebacker Jamiihr Williams of Lima Senior. Williams,
who is entering his junior season, ran a 4.78 40 and a 4.19 shuttle at 6-1,
206 pounds.
Williams is already receiving attention from some of the area's top
programs. He camped this year at the University of Michigan.
"I was invited up to Michigan so I went up there," he said. "Most of the
players there are going to be seniors. I also like Ohio State, West Virginia,
Penn State, Notre Dame."
I have a 2.8
with a 17 ACT which gets me past the clearinghouse but I am not satisfied
with that. I will be taking it again. I know I can do better. I want to make
my decision before the season starts next year. I don't want to wait around.
I will be looking at academics and how I fit in. That will tell me where I
want to go.
Lima Senior has struggled in recent years but Williams says there is
plenty returning from last year's team.
"We started two-a days last Wednesday," Williams said. "We will break
camp Thursday I think. We scrimmage Defiance next Saturday then the Saturday
after that we scrimmage Piqua. We have a lot of players back. We were very
inexperienced last year."
Williams will be a bit of a jack of all trades for senior this year.
"I am playing outside LB," he said. "On offense, I am
playing RB-QB-WR. I weigh 212 right now at about 6-2 or 6-2 1/2. I have been
told I could be a DE at the next level. I kind of played as a rush end last
year but this year I might be used where I can drop back and cover."
Williams is listed as one of the top juniors to watch in Ohio High
Magazine.
