While the masses and Mel Kiper are talking about the upcoming 2006 draft, the OSU football team is keeping their head down and focusing on the upcoming season. It’s a busy AND CRITICAL time of the year.
With finals lurking next week, the football aspect is on the downhill for the quarter. Coach Tressel and Coach Johnson didn’t waste much time celebrating a victory over Notre Dame. It was straight back to work for some very spirited workouts.
Instead of the team taking the “we are getting the raw of the deal” mentality towards the renovations at the Woody Hayes, this team decided to embrace the changes. The new look weight room has been filled with enthusiasm and big, athletic bodies. The Sunrise Services of Jim Tressel continue in 2006. While OSU's head coach remains a modern leader in many scenarios, he has not forgotten the old-school approach that has won him championships. 6:00 AM start times for the Sunrise Services help conditioning, but more importantly team-building.

How fast do these guys want to practice? How physical will the new defense play? Who can fill in for Mangold and Sims? What senior players show leadership when it’s one of those days that the team feels emotionally flat? The coaches can’t give us those answers ... it’s up to the guys wearing the shoulder pads.
