In the end it was a sophomore running back from Akron Hoban, Steve Yoak, that everyone was talking about. Yoak rushed for 126 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown in his very first varsity football game for the Tyrell Sutton-less Knights. Garfield was inside Hoban's red zone on four different occasions and were unable to come up with any points. Chris Wells earned 108 difficult yards on the ground and suffered a leg injury that required stitches in the process. Hoban won 21-7.
