Tuesday, March 9
Junior standout Evan Turner was named the Big Ten Player of the Year on Monday when the conference announced its award winners. Ohio State head coach Thad Matta shared Coach of the Year honors. The Columbus Dispatch and Cleveland Plain Dealer have the story. The Dispatch also has a list of the All-Big Ten teams.

Turner was not an unanimous choice for POY by the conference coaches, so Doug Lesmerises of the Plain Dealer asks, "Which Big Ten coach did not vote for Ohio State's Evan Turner?"

The Dispatch reports that Matta is one of the highest-paid college basketball coaches in the country.

After trailing by as many as 18 points, the Ohio State women's basketball team rallied to win their second consecutive Big Ten tournament title with a 66-64 victory against Iowa. The Columbus Dispatch, Iowa City Press-Citizen, Indianapolis Star and The Associated Press (via the Cleveland Plain Dealer) have the details.

Sunday, March 7
The Ohio State women's basketball team is a step away from another Big Ten tournament title thanks to a semifinal victory over Wisconsin Saturday night. The Columbus Dispatch, Wisconsin State Journal, Indianapolis Star and The Associated Press (via the Canton Repository) have recaps of OSU's 82-73 win.
