Saturday, December 5
The Columbus Dispatch has a story on how patience could be a virtue for those wanting Rose Bowl tickets. Sticking with the bowl, the Dispatch also has a story on Oregon's growth this season.

The shooting struggles of men's basketball Buckeye William Buford are the subject of a Dispatch story. The Cleveland Plain Dealer has a similar story.

Friday, December 4
The Rose Bowl will pit the Buckeyes against the Ducks thanks to Oregon's Civil War victory against Oregon State last night. The Ohio State men's basketball team clinched the Big Ten's victory in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge with a win against Florida State. The Columbus Dispatch, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Tallahassee Democrat and The Associated Press (via the Canton Repository) have game recaps.

Ohio State's opponent in the Rose Bowl will be determined tonight when Oregon and Oregon State face off in the Civil War. The Oregonian has a story on on Chip Kelly's Ducks, while the Corvallis Gazette Times has a story on the Beavers.

Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden resigned on Tuesday, brining up old memories of Woody Hayes' firing for Columbus Dispatch columnist Bob Hunter. Bowden's departure leads a college football notebook by the Dispatch, and the Dispatch also stories on Cincinnati and Ohio U. football. The Dispatch also has a short note on Tressel moving up the active all-time leaders in coaching victories because of Bowden's move.
