OSU, Texas Have Something New In Common

I find it ironic that the Fiesta Bowl will match Ohio State and Texas next month. Why? Because Texas is the newest team to fall victim to a similar flawed selection process cost Ohio State in 1998. And the same number of national pundits might end up caring.

With Ohio State and Texas being matched up in the Fiesta Bowl, the pairing fitting because both teams will know what it is like to lose the No. 1 ranking because of a loss to an inferior team then watch a perhaps-less-deserving squad go to the Bowl Championship Series National Championship game in their place.
