A pair of former Ohio State football players will go into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend: lineman Jeff Uhlenhake and quarterback Bobby Hoying.

Three players listed as starters on the Bobcat depth chart will be returning to their home region Saturday. Cornerback Idris Lawrence is from Columbus while receiver Taylor Price and defensive end Kris Luchsinger are from the Columbus suburbs of Hilliard and Dublin, respectively.

Ohio State and Ohio have met five previous times in football, although just once in the past century. The Buckeyes beat the Bobcats 40-16 in 1999, 100 years after the first meeting between the two schools. Ohio State won 41-0 in 1899, 20-0 in 1900, 17-0 in 1901 and 17-0 in 1902.

In a stat that can be important for a team looking to pull an upset, Ohio has 19 non-offensive touchdowns since the start of the 2004 season. That includes Donte Harden’s 100-yard kickoff return last week against Wyoming and four non-offensive scores last season.

With a victory, Ohio State will become the fifth Division I-A football program to amass as many as 800 wins, following Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas and Nebraska. Penn State enters the weekend eight behind at 791.

The one and only time Ohio State has lost to a team that is currently a member of the Mid-American Conference came in 1894, a 12-6 loss to Akron Sept. 15, 1894, at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.
