McDougald Continues Commit Parade

McDougald is No. 22 for OSU in '09

There seems to be no stopping the momentum built by the Ohio State coaching staff as it builds a star-studded recruiting class for 2009. The latest domino to fall is local prepster Bradley McDougald. Bill Greene has the scoop.

Within minutes of the Ohio State recruiting class growing to 21, it reached 22.

Bradley McDougald, a three-star safety prospect from Dublin Scioto in suburban Columbus, told Monday afternoon that he is a Buckeye.

"I just committed to Ohio State," McDougald told Monday afternoon. "I talked to Caoch Tressel."

The 6-1, 190-pound McDougald said the Buckeyes' head coach was "real excited, and he welcomed me into the Buckeye family."

Asked why he picked Ohio State, McDougald said, "It just felt right. After being at camp on Friday, I just knew it was the right place for me. The coaches are great here. I went home and talked to my coach and my parents and they said if I was 100 percent sure of my decision, they would back me on whatever I wanted to do, and I made the decision and called Coach Tressel and committed."

McDougald's commitment came within minutes of Ohio State receiving its 21st 2009 commitment. That came from another defensive back in the person of Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway star Corey Brown, a four-star cornerback prospect. Recommended Stories
