Saturday, June 7
Kosta Koufos and his rising NBA Draft stock are the subject of a story in the Canton Repository.

Curt Conrad of the Mansfield News Journal has a feature story on OSU baseball player J.B. Shuck, who was drafted by Houston this week.

Finally, the Olympian of Olympia, Wash., has a story on the Seattle SuperSonics working out several potential draftees, including Koufos.


Friday, June 6
Former Buckeye Mike Doss will finally graduate from Ohio State this weekend, and the Canton Repository has a story on his journey.

Thursday was a big day for another Buckeye. Baseball outfielder/pitcher J.B. Shuck was drafted by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the MLB first-year player draft. The Mansfield News Journal has the story.

Many athletes will be in Columbus this weekend for the OHSAA track and field championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Cincinnati Enquirer has a story on one – future Buckeye wide receiver DeVier Posey of Cincinnati La Salle.

The Columbus Dispatch has a short note on an award recently won by OSU athletic director Gene Smith.


Thursday, June 5
Bob Baptist of the Columbus Dispatch has a note on Iowa State men's basketball transfer Wesley Johnson and his interest of moving on to Ohio State.

Staying with basketball, The Associated Press (via the Times of Northwest Indiana) has a story on the Indiana Pacers having a pre-draft workout with several point guards, including OSU's Jamar Butler.

The Des Moines (Iowa) Register has a story on David Taylor, the nation's No. 1 high school wrestler at 112 pounds, choosing to attend Iowa State over Ohio State and Oklahoma State. Taylor is from St. Paris (Ohio) Graham.

Finally, for those coming to Columbus from out of town for this weekend's Ohio state track and field championships at OSU's Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, the Akron Beacon Journal has some parking tips.


Wednesday, June 4
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith will not pursue the same position at his alma mater, Notre Dame. The Columbus Dispatch and Cleveland Plain Dealer have the details.

Anthony Gonzalez hopes to increase his production in his second NFL season, and the Indianapolis Star has the story.

Former Buckeye fullback Pete Johnson was found guilty for writing a bad check to buy a vehicle. The Dayton Daily News has the story on what could happen next.

Finally, the Akron Beacon Journal has a story on former Buckeye LeCharles Bentley and his hopes to return to the Cleveland Browns.


Tuesday, June 3
The Associated Press (via the Dispatch) has a story on OSU men's golf coach Jim Brown, who will retire after the 2008-09 season.


Monday, June 2
More than a dozen people, including former OSU athletes, have written letters in support of Derrick Foster, who shot two Columbus police officers in late April. That has the Fraternal Order of Police upset, and the Columbus Dispatch has the details.

Former Buckeye Rickey Dudley and his second career as a wine bar owner are the subject of a story by the Fort Worth (Texas) Business Press.


Sunday, June 1
Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White has moved on to the same position at Duke. The Columbus Dispatch has a story that says OSU's Gene Smith has no comment about the ND job. Smith is a graduate of Notre Dame and was a member of the Irish's 1973 national championship football team as a defensive end.

Doug Lesmerises of the Cleveland Plain Dealer has his "Hey, Doug!" OSU mailbag.

Finally, the Dayton Daily News has a short note on the Martin Bayless Free Football Camp, which will be held June 1 in Dayton and will feature former Buckeye Will Allen as one of its instructors.
