The OSU men's basketball team added a junior college point guard when Jeremie Simmons agreed to sign scholarship papers and come to Ohio State. The Cleveland Plain Dealer has the details.

Jim Tressel talked up his former defensive end and new New York Jet, Vernon Gholston, in an article by Newsday.

The Cincinnati Enquirer has a story on some non-drafted free agents who have signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, (possibly) including OSU fullback Tyler Whaley. Fellow fullback Dionte Johnson has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, according to The Associated Press (via the Tucson (Ariz.) Citizen).

The AP (via the Dispatch) has a story on the plus-one bowl format that is being discussed this week. The Dispatch also has some notes on what the plus-one model actually is.

Finally, Tressel added another commitment for the 2009 football class Monday when Youngstown Boardman offensive lineman Corey Linsley agreed to come to Columbus. The Columbus Dispatch has the story, as well as a look at the '09 class so far.
