For the second year in a row, Ohio State blew the doors off of Northwestern by scoring early and often. It was no mistake this time around, as the offense wanted to get off to a flying start, especially considering the struggles it had faced early in games so far this season.

Something had to give. Entering Saturday's Big Ten opener with Northwestern in Ohio Stadium, Ohio State had scored just 27 of its 91 points – not even one-third – during the first half, including just seven points in the first quarter.
