Linebacker Brian Rolle was one of the many visitors who watched the Buckeyes fend off the Michigan Wolverines and secure their spot in the National Title game. Last night he ended the recruiting suspense when he issued a verbal commitment to sign with Ohio State on National Letter of Intent Day.

Brian Rolle, a 5-foot-10, 210-pound linebacker from Immokalee High in Fla. has issued a commitment to Ohio State after considering offers from schools like Florida, LSU, and Wisconsin.

He joins DB Nate Oliver, RB Brandon Saine, CB Donnie Evege, WR Dane Sanzenbacher, RB Boom Herron, OG Evan Blankenship, WR Taurian Washington, DB Eugene Clifford, DB Devon Torrence and DB Rocco Pentello as players who intend to sign with Ohio State.

Rolle fell in love with the Buckeye program while on an official visit to Columbus. He witnessed one of the year’s most exciting games as the Buckeyes narrowly defeated Michigan 42-39 to advance to the BCS Championship in Arizona.

"I have never seen anything like that stadium on that night," Rolle previously reported to Scout.com. "The coaches, the players, the atmosphere, it was all the best I have seen."

The official visit may have been excellent, but yesterdays visit by Buckeye Head Coach Jim Tressel may have sealed the deal.

“I talked with Brian for about five minutes this morning and he told me that he was going to be a Buckeye,” Immokalee Head Coach John Weber informed.

“I think from the get go it was going to come down to Ohio State, Wisconsin, or Florida. Jim Tressel was here at the school yesterday. It is always neat having those guys in here. He spent a couple of hours with me here, and then he went on to spend about three hours with Brian.”

Coach Weber could not say enough about Rolle’s work ethic and on the field skills.

“He is right at the top of my list of the best I have ever coached,” Weber explained. “He definitely has the highest motor of anybody I have ever coached. He does not ever shut down, ever.”

“I think that he will be a linebacker. There is no doubt that he has the work ethic to succeed. Brian is just a great hard working player.”

As a senior, Rolle racked up 125 tackles on defense and added over 900 yards rushing on offense as well.

Rolle is the 11th commitment in the Buckeye recruiting class that could wind up reaching 20 by the time it is all said and done.
