Photo Gallery : Ohio State's Senior Camp
The very first player that I visually recognized when I walked in the WHAC just happened to be Vince Browne of Lisbon David Anderson High School. Reports have Browne lowering his 40-time a tenth of second to 4.8 at the camp.
And then I bumped into this monster, Nick Claytor, from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia. Talking briefly with him and his father I discovered he is originally from Toledo and it wouldn't be a big stretch at all for him to trek northward to attend college.
I then I ran into Quinn Pitcock, err, make that Jafe Pitcock, from Piqua High School. The resemblance is rather eerie as you can see.
Nick Schepis from Walsh Jesuit was very excited to be at the senior camp.
Jerome Royal from Cleveland Heights is a guy that's been making the rounds at various camps this spring.
Rob Reiland is a good-looking tight end out of Massillon Jackson.
His teammate at Jackson, Ben Graeff, is a solid prospect at linebacker.
Joey D'Andrea (no relation to either Mike D'Andrea from OSU past and present) was also at the Nike camp last month trying to garner some attention from the college ranks.
I met John Flowers from Lancaster High School who was talking to former Golengale, Jim Cordle, at the time,
Then I had a run in with coach Maurice Douglass and the guys from the 'Wood. Big Michael Page Jr. was the first guy I saw.
Then came C.J. Peake who's quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Marcus English is a DB/WR prospect.
Tyson Patrich is a top defender at linebacker for Trotwood.
Joshua Anderson from Marion-Franklin was in San Antonio and the Nike camp as well.
Robert Brown is an offensive tackle from Winton Woods.
His teammate Taylor Bradley was at the camp also.
Canfield's stellar two-way performer Sean Baker was in attendance.
Junior-to-be Zebrie Sanders was one of two juniors that I spotted at the camp.
Justin Brown, a future-star on the defensive line, from Ursuline was the other junior in attendance I noticed.
A set of twins from Hubbard was at the camp. Marcus O'Hara is offensive tackle prospect...
... and Anthony O'Hara who worked out with the defensive linemen.
Cody White from Normal (Ill.) Community West High School was a tight end prospect that jumped out at me. His father Jim, an Ohio State graduate, was at the camp wearing a Buckeye shirt.
And so did Birmingham (Mich.) Brother Rice QB, Mike Cappetto.
After the players signed in, they tested indoors for a vertical jump, like Vince Browne is doing here, and with the weights.
And then Jim Tressel formerly welcomed all participants and their parents.
Then he introduced all of the coaches who would be helping out at the camp.
Including a very thorough introduction of his own staff members.
C.J. Peake and the other campers warmed up before they were tested in the shuttle drill and the 40-yard dash.
Here is Nick Schepis in the shuttle drill.
And this good-looking defensive line prospect from Canada (still searching for his name at this time).
Here's Vince Browne running his 4.8 second 40-yard dash.
The the campers broke into individual positions for instruction with their respective coaches.
And that, for the most part, covered the morning part of the camp. The players were then bused over to Ohio Stadium for a couple of hours before they returned to the WHAC for an afternoon session of instruction.
