Moeller DT Talks Recruiting

Defensive tackle Frank Becker of Archbishop Moeller High School has proven to be one of the better linemen in the Cincinnati region. Colleges are already paying attention, and he already has much of his summer planned out. Read on for more.

Cincinnati (Oh.) Moeller defensive tackle Frank Becker (6-3, 270) has caught the attention of several college programs in the Midwest region.

"I have no offers yet but I am hearing from Iowa, Wisconsin, BC, Purdue, Pitt, Michigan State, Indiana, UC and Miami of Ohio," Becker said.

From his tackle position, Becker had six sacks, 14 solo tackles, 24 assists, and was named Lineman of the Year in the Greater Cathoilic League. Currently he is working on his speed and preparing for camp season.

"I am filling out the form right now to go to Nike camp," Becker said. "I have been in acceleration training for two weeks. It is an 8-week program. I started at 5.2. I am sure I can get that down.

"I will be camping at Ohio State and maybe a few others."

Becker just wrapped up his wrestling season, where he had a solid year, finishing seventh in the state.

"I lost to the eventual runner-up from Reynoldsburg, then I lost to Antonio Jeremiah," Becker said. "That is one big guy."

Becker talked some about when he might be looking to make a college decision.

"I have not decided yet," he said. "As far as committing is concerned it depends on who offers and when.

"I am looking at a school with good coaches but we know that can change. Coaches leave, so academics and the atmosphere will play the biggest part in where I decide to go to school."

Becker does, however, have an early list of favorites.

"My favorite schools are Ohio State, Notre Dame, BC, Purdue, Miami of Ohio and (Cincinnati)," he said.

Becker is also an excellent student and will not have a problem qualifying.

"I will take the ACT in June," Becker said. "My grades are not an issue. I am an honors student." Recommended Stories
