Jim Tressel, Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell and a group of Ohio State football players were just some of the people that extended greetings and best wishes to the Glenville head coach at a surprise 50th birthday for him at a Cleveland banquet hall. Tressel called during the banquet-like setting and was put on the speaker phone, the mayor presented him a key to the city and four of his former Tarblooder players, one being his son, made the trek from Columbus to be a part of the celebration.

Surprise!

Mrs. Ginn was responsible for the celebration.

Daughter Tiffany was on hand as well.

Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell presented Ginn with a key to the city.

You had to be in attendance to understand this photograph!

Ted Ginn Jr. was all smiles when he first began speaking about his father...

...and in an instant he was fighting back the tears.

And when he was done speaking he presented his dad with a picture of his first collegiate touchdown.

The program continued on as each of the other OSU players took a turn at the podium.

Troy Smith was next...

...then Curtis Terry...

...and finally Jamario O'Neal.

Jeanette Ginn also said a few words about her husband and DNA (again an inside joke).

And then it was the man of the night's turn to speak.

He talked about his heritage back to the state of Lousianna...

...and about how that upbringing was basically responsible for the love that he has for his children.

Then he proudly took a photo with his young men.

When the party ended it was picture time and all of the players were more than gracious with their time.

They all signed autographs as well for anyone who wanted one.

It was a great night for a great man!

The second cake couldn't have said it any better!
