Josh Chichester of West Chester (Oh.) Lakota West has more than his share of college options for both football and basketball, and several schools want him for both. At the recent photo shoot for the Ohio High School Football Guide Tremendous 26 (http://www.hssp.cc), we caught up with Chichester for a couple interviews, one of them a Bucknuts TV interview. Click the link to check out both items.

West Chester Lakota West wide receiver Josh Chichester is one of the tallest receiver prospects in the country at 6-8. And he says he has added some much-needed muscle to his frame.

“I’m up to 214,” he said. “I played around 200 last season.”

Chichester has not yet scheduled any football camps for this summer

“I’m not completely sure right now, but I am going to try and make it to Ohio State’s camp,” he said.

Chichester has a soild group of scholarship offers.

“I have North Carolina, Illinois, Purdue, Notre Dame, Miami Oxford and a few others,” he said. “I am waiting for Ohio State.”

Chichester wants to play both football and basketball in college, and all the schools that have offered him a scholarship want him for both sports.

But he has not heard from Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta lately.

“Thad, he’s not really coming hard,” Chichester said. “He hasn’t talked to me much.”

Chichester was asked what stands out about Ohio State.

“I just like how it is,” he said. “Football and basketball. Hopefully I’ll get that scholarship offer.”

Does he have a favorite out of the schools that have offered?

“I lean towards Illinois, but if OSU offered, it would probably change,” he said.

Chichester would like to make a decision during the summer.

“I’d like to decide before football season,” he said.

As a junior in 2004, Chichester had 27 catches for 603 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He thinks that Lakota West is in store for a quality season in 2005.

“Pretty good,” he said. “We should be pretty good. We’ve got a lot of underclassmen, but I think they’ll step up this year.”

We also have a video interview with Chichester, conducted recently at the recent photo shoot and ceremony for the Tremendous 26 for the Ohio High School Football Guide, which provides capsules for football teams all over the state. Steve Helwagen talks about recruiting with Chichester and the options he has regarding basketball and football. You will need Windows Media Player to check out the interview. The interview is just over 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Click Below:
