Ohio State signee Ryan Williams, a defensive lineman from Mission Viejo, Calif., has one more high school game in his sights before he ventures east to begin his college football career.
The 6-5, 230-pound Williams will play in the Orange County All-Star Game July 8 at Orange Coast College.
“I think that game will be fun,” he said. “I am looking forward to it. I’ll be playing with some of our guys from here with defensive end Nick Reed, who’s headed to Oregon, and running back Chase Moline, who’s going to UCLA.”
Because of the distance, Williams said he will likely stay in California this summer and work out there.
“I will wait until August until camp starts for when I come out there,” Williams said. “I have been in contact with (assistant coach Luke) Fickell and he has told me to keep working hard.
“I have a facility I train at, MVP Sports Center. I run there with a friend a few times a week,” he said.
Williams is qualified academically with a 3.0 GPA and an 1120 on the SAT.
