Ohio State might be looking for one more wide receiver in the 2005 class, but it won't be Georgia native Jared Cook. He recently gave his verbal commitment to Steve Spurrier at South Carolina.

Wide receiver Jared Cook from Suwanee, Ga. was scheduled to make an official visit to Ohio State this weekend, but he recently cancelled.

“I committed to South Carolina and I’m done taking visits,” Cook said. “That’s definitely where I’m going, so I didn’t want to prolong it.”

He added that playing for new Gamecock coach Steve Spurrier was a “major factor” in his decision.

The 6-5, 210-pound Cook was also considering Mississippi State.
