St. Francis of New York came to Byers Field in Parma and took on and defeated the Wildcats of St. Ignatius High School. Doug Worthington, an Ohio State Buckeye verbal commitment, was just one of a number of Raider players to shine in the game.

We want to welcome all the St. Francis fans who may be checking Bucknuts out for the first time and we look forward to many of you becoming a member of our Bucknuts family so you can continue to follow Worthington's career at OSU closely.

Hey Buckeye fans...meet Doug Worthington.

He's a big fellow!

All 6-7, 260 pounds of him.

He passed the look test with his pads off...

...And looked even better with his pads on.

He sure looked like a big-time recruit before he even played a down.

And he moved very well for a big man.

He's one of his team's captains.

And he played the entire game on both sides of the ball. Tight end and defensive end.

Jim Tressel, Jim Heacock and Joe Daniels all came to see him play. Daniels recruited Worthington. Tressel was like a rock star signing autographs for everyone who asked.

Here's some photos of Worthingington during the game...

He even split out on offense on occasion although he wasn't a pass receiving threat in this particular game.

And he came charging hard on defense in passing situations. He was in on three sacks and had many pressures on the Ignatius quarterback.

He played the run well.

Everyone in the stadium knew his name by the end of the game.

He's blocking the defensive end from St. Ignatius on this particular play.

He had one of his three sacks on this play.

He played hard until the game's end.

He proclaimed his team to be number one when the game was in the books.

He was very gracious to the Ignatius players in victory.

And his dad couldn't have been any more happier for his son! It was a big win for St. Francis!...Got to love the Ohio State shirt!
