Four-star WR/CB and top 15 Ohio High prospect Andre Amos decided to pull the trigger on a commitment tonight, and he chose Ohio State.
"I went ahead and made it official this evening," he said.
What prompted him to make the decision?
"I just saw it as an opportunity and I took it," he said. "This is Ohio State we're talking about here."
Amos (6-2, 175) is being brought in as a receiver, but he says that staying at wideout is not set in stone.
"I'm coming in as a wide receiver, but if I think I can play earlier, I can move over (to defense)," Amos said. "They've already said that."
Whether it is at WR or CB, Amos feels confident that he can compete at Ohio State.
"I know there are a lot of good players there, but I think I can play with them," he said.
Amos' decision was down to Ohio State and Purdue. A commitment this soon was a bit of a surprise, but Andre knew it was time.
"I just feel real good about the decision," Amos said. "I didn't want to wait. There was no reason to."
Amos feels good about his team this year as well, which starts play this weekend. They are in a tough conference, but they seem optimistic.
"We scored 21 on (Huber Heights) Wayne," Amos said. "I feel good about where we are. We are young and not real big, but we have speed and enthusiasm."
