ATH Alex Daniels has been a camp standout for months now, and he continued to
shine this weekend at Ohio State camp.
"I tore it up, again," he said. "I weighed in at 230, ran a
4.4."
Daniels did not get in early enough to take his vertical leap test, but he
was there long enough to impress.
"Luke Fickell had me playing linebacker," he said. "I prefer
playing safety though."
Did any players in particular stand out to Daniels?
"Freddie Lenix was impressive," he said.
Daniels has been working hard towards gridiron success, but he has also been
working in the classroom and has been doing well.
"Now it's just a matter of waiting on my test score," Alex said.
"I have a 3.0 core. I am taking summer school classes. I just want to get
this nailed down and over with."
Daniels is just getting started this summer. He is planning to head
out-of-state on at least a couple of visits.
"I'm going down to Oklahoma," he said. "I'm going down in an
RV. I want to see what it's like down there.
"I'm going to take an unofficial to Kentucky, just to see what it's like
down there."
Daniels is rated as one of Ohio's top ten overall prospects in the upcoming
issue of Ohio High magazine. He also had some news about his playing status for
his senior season.
"I'm going to go to Brookhaven this year," he said. "I'll play
strong safety and running back."
