Fairfax (Va.) Robinson defensive end Olu Hall visited Purdue this weekend.
Hall (6-4, 220, 4.7) is considered as Virginia's No. 1 prospect as well as the nation's No. 8 defensive end and the country's No. 61 player overall, according to TheInsidersRecruiting.com.
"I really liked the academic part of it," said Hall, who was hosted by defensive end Nick Cavallo. "Purdue is supposed to have one of the best engineering schools in America. It has a lot to offer. The players were cool, too. There was a lot going on there.
"Coach Tiller was really cool. He explained a lot of things and talked about their defensive ends. They are losing some players on defense, so there are some opportunities there."
Hall visited Virginia Tech and OSU previously. He still has visits set with N.C. State Jan. 23 and Virginia Jan. 30.
"I do not have a favorite yet," Hall said. "They are all on the same plane. I'm not going to put one school over another until I check them all out.
"(OSU assistant Luke) Fickell was down to see me this past week and Coach Tressel is coming down either Wednesday or Thursday."
OSU is recruiting Hall as a "Leo" defensive end, the spot being vacated by Will Smith. When asked if OSU was still in the running, Hall said, "Oh, yeah, all of them are."
As a senior, Hall had 102 tackles and 11 sacks for an 11-1 playoff team. He holds a 2.3 GPA and is awaiting test results. He will retake a college entrance exam Jan. 26.
