OSU offensive lineman Mike Kne told reporters after practice that he signed his scholarship papers today, elevating him from walk-on status to scholarship status.
The 6-4, 300 pound Kne played extensively against Bowling Green at guard. He figures to be in line for a starting spot as a senior and will continue to be a big part of the offensive line mix this year.
Kne talked about when he broke the news to his parents.
"They were ecstatic," he said. "They knew I had been working hard. They were just so happy."
Kne was proud of the fact that he had been elevated from a walk-on to a scholarship player.
"I felt good because it felt like I had earned it," he said.
