Ohio State freshman safety Jayme Thompson has made a decision to leave the program, and is in the process of finding a school. After missing last season due to a foot injury, Thompson will transfer from the Buckeye program.

"Jayme will be leaving Ohio State, and this was a very difficult decision for him," Deon Thompson, the player's father, stated. "We are very thankful for the opportunity Ohio State gave Jayme, and he leaves the school with no hard feelings at all. The Buckeye fans have always been great to us, and we appreciate it very much."

"Jayme was not asked to leave, and he leaves in great academic standing," he continued. "Coach (Urban) Meyer was great to both of us, and he wanted Jayme to stay. This was a personal decision, but Jayme wishes his teammates and the Ohio State coaching staff nothing but great wishes for the upcoming season. We have nothing but great thoughts about the Ohio State program, and this was a hard decision for him."

Thompson is in the process of looking for a school, and has interest from Kentucky, Syracuse, Louisville, Missouri, and others.

He will be visiting Kentucky in two weeks for their spring game. Recommended Stories
