Buckeyes Make Strong Impression On Washington
Only a sophomore. Huntersville (NC) SouthLake Chrisitan running back Robert Washington is already a premiere prospect on the recruiting radar. He already holds 22 offers, his most recent coming from the Buckeyes. "I visited Ohio State today and they offered me while I was there," said Washington. "Coach Drayton was the one that told me that I had an offer and he's the running backs coach so that was great to hear. I met with Coach Meyer and he said I could commit whenever I get ready." The strong words from the Ohio State head coach resonated with the early four-star for the class of 2016. "I will think about it without question," Washington admitted. "I'm still taking time with my process, though. I will have my decision made by next February after signing day for the 2015 class. I'm going to have a top 10 list of schools by the beginning of my season. Ohio State is very high on that list." Washington loved the visit and discussed a few parts of the trip that separated themselves from the rest. "The visit was great," he stressed. "What stood out most was every coach was straight forward with me. They wanted to get to know me as a person and test my football IQ. Coach Drayton drilled me a bit and he was very impressed with my knowledge of the game." "It's tough to match the academics and student life at Ohio State," Washington added. "That really sticks out, too. Ohio State has a great balance of all those things. I want to major in Pre-Med as well and they have one of the best medical programs in the country." The standout from North Carolina already has his eyes set on another trip to Columbus. "I want to return to Ohio State for Friday Night Lights," Washington told Scout. "I also plan on attending at least two games this upcoming season." Washington is hesitant to name any frontrunners at this point of his recruitment but made it clear the Buckeyes were in a good position. "I don't have any leaders and I want to wait to take all my visits before I begin to narrow it down or name any favorites," he noted. "Ohio State is in good shape, though."
