Kraemer Talks Blue Devils & Buckeyes
Things continue to go well for Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder sophomore offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer. With a couple of early offers already on the board, Kraemer continues to receive interest and recently visited Duke for their spring game. "I visited Duke on Saturday for their spring game," Kraemer told Scout.com. "They started really early and are all done other than a couple of more practices this spring." While there, Kraemer got some one-on-one time with someone familiar to his hometown of Cincinnati. "There were a couple of signees there and one was Tinashe Bere from Sycamore High School," he continued. "Coach (John) Latina introduced us and he showed me around the players' lounge and the locker room. It was also really cool to learn why he chose Duke." After the spring game, Kraemer got more time with the Blue Devil coaching staff. "After the spring game the coaches asked me to stay behind," he said. "We were there with about five other recruits to kind of get a more through tour and for them to really explain what Duke is all about. "I really liked what they were saying as the academic part of it is unreal. I also really feel their football program is going in the right direction under Coach (David) Cutcliffe as he seems like an amazing guy just listening to him talk. He's very in to what he does and I think he's the type of coach you would want to play under." With a firsthand account of what the program offers, Kraemer came away impressed and surprised. "Duke was actually a lot better that what I thought it would be," stated Kraemer. "I thought being a high academic school, they wouldn't be that great. However, they have built a great facility that is really nice and I think they are going to add on to it in the next couple of years." Have the Blue Devil coaches talked about a future offer? "They have not offered me yet," he said. "But they said they would be in touch later this week. I had been talking with Coach Latina at first, but now I'm talking with Coach (Re'quan) Boyetter who recruits Ohio." While impressed with his Duke visit, coming up for Kraemer is a scheduled visit to see Ohio State. What have the Buckeyes been telling the impressive sophomore? "I'm visiting Ohio State for their spring game in the middle of April," said Kraemer. "I'm talking with Coach (Kerry) Coombs and he's telling me how great of a place Ohio State is and how they really want me to be a Buckeye. He said I'm one of their top prospects in the 2016 recruiting class and said they'll be back later in the spring to talk about Ohio State and an offer. "I'm really pumped to go up there as I've never seen the campus or really been up there at all. So I'm excited to see what it's all about and learn more about the program."
