Providence wide receiver Miles Boykin

Check out the latest news and insight on the recruiting trail in the state of Illinois, inside on Scout.com.

It's on to the 2015 prospects in Illinois -- and they are highlighted by the group of wide receivers, including four-star Providence Catholic receiver Miles Boykin.

Boykin started off the week by adding an offer from Notre Dame.

"I was very excited," Boykin said. "Other than Illinois, this has probably been the one I've been most excited about."

My take:
This is one of the most interesting quotes of the week. Why? It shows just how much Boykin respects and likes the staff at Illinois. They were his first offer, so I know that must have something to do with it but none the less is interesting when he has offers from nearly every Midwest school.

Gasiorowski Getting Attention

How about a quotable quarterback? Glenbard North prospect Brett Gasiorowski is exactly that, plus the 6-foot-4, 200 pounder is an outstanding prospect.

Illinois has been a school of interest for Gasiorowski for quite some time, he even camped at their satellite camp this past summer.

Did things change when the first 2015 commit happened to be a quarterback?

"They actually told me that don't worry that Jimmy committed, and that they are going to take two quarterbacks," Gasiorowski said.

Penn State is also a school making a push for Gasiorowski headed by quarterback coach Ricky Rahne.

"Hearing from Penn State was pretty cool," Gasiorowski said. "I think it will be a whole new experience, because with the tradition and everything. It feel the biggest school of all that I have visited.

My take:
Although Illinois taking a couple quarterbacks isn't surprising, it is interesting to think that that part of recruiting isn't over for the Ilini. Also of note, Gasiorowski will visit Penn State March 28th.

Other Receivers Two three-star receivers added offers this past week as well, Stevenson's Cameron Green picked up Northwestern and Nebraska. And Montini receiver Leon Thornton added Cincinnati.
