Ohio State's recruiting trail keeps on rolling. The Buckeyes got their third verbal commitment in the past week today when four-star wide receiver Johnnie Dixon of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., gave his pledge to the Buckeyes.

Ohio State’s white-hot streak on the recruiting trail continued Tuesday when the Buckeyes picked up a commitment from four-star receiver Johnnie Dixon.

Dixon not only joins 2017 quarterback recruit Danny Clark and four-star 2014 linebacker recruit Raekwon McMillan in giving the Buckeyes three high-profile recruits in the past five days, he solidifies a class of Ohio State’s wide receivers that should help a group that has grown by leaps and bounds keep getting better under head coach Urban Meyer and wideouts coach Zach Smith.

At 5-11 and 200 pounds, Dixon brings both size and speed to the table. The Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) William T. Dwyer prospect is rated the No. 39 receiver in the class.

“Dixon has some unique physical attributes, he has plus speed (4.4) and a very strong, durable frame,” his Scout evaluation reads. “He has continued to add mass while not sacrificing speed. This is a potential big play weapon at the next level and Dixon will be able to stretch the field. He has a lot of potential over the middle of the field. We would like to see him play bigger in all facets of the game. Could also be DB down the road.”

He is the 19th member of OSU’s class of 2014 but just the first Floridian. He joins four-star commits Noah Brown, Malik Hooker, Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel as players who could join Ohio State’s crew of wideouts next season.

The commitment boosts Ohio State’s top-ranked Big Ten class to seventh in the nation.
