With Randall Cobb now out for at least the next six weeks, the Packers added receiver Myles White and tight end Jake Stoneburner from the practice squad.

The Green Bay Packers promoted wide receiver Myles White to the active roster but did not sign a veteran to bolster their injury-riddled group.

In transactions announced on Tuesday, the Packers promoted White and tight end Jake Stoneburner from the practice squad. To make room, they placed Randall Cobb on injured reserve/designated for return and guard/center Greg Van Roten was put on season-ending injured reserve.

Also, the Packers signed linebacker Victor Aiyewa to the practice squad.

Cobb was a logical candidate to use their lone short-term injured reserve designation. He reportedly will need six to eight weeks to heal and rehab from his broken fibula; he’ll have to spend six weeks on the injured list.

White (6-0 182) is an undrafted rookie from Louisiana Tech. After a strong offseason and solid training camp in which he caught eight passes for 90 yards in the preseason, White spent the first six weeks of the season on the practice squad.

Stoneburner (6-3, 249) is an undrafted rookie from Ohio State. He caught three passes for 12 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown, during the preseason. He also spent the first six weeks of the season on the practice squad.

Aiyewa (6-1, 237) is a first-year player from Washington. As a senior in 2010, he tallied 83 tackles, including 22.5 for losses. He spent training camp with Tampa Bay in 2011.

With Van Roten on injured reserve, the Packers have Marshall Newhouse and Lane Taylor as backups. With White, the Packers have a four-man receiver corps of Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Jarrett Boykin and White. Jones’ availability for Sunday is in doubt due to a knee injury, meaning the Packers could be especially thin. With Stoneburner, the Packers now have five tight ends with Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless, Brandon Bostick and Ryan Taylor.
