Recruiting Update: Settle has scholarship offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Miami, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.
Over the last four months, Tim Settle has picked up offers from across the country.
Now, Settle is the No. 1 prospect in the East Region.
"It feels good (to be the No.1 prospect)," said Settle.
Settle's desire to be successful not only comes from himself, but others as well.
"The motivation I get from my teammates and people who care about has helped me be successful," he said.
"My dad, my grandmom, my family, my girlfriend, my friends, my trainers – everybody helps drive me to be successful every day."
Out of everyone, Settle leans on his dad the most for support.
"My dad is my mentor," Settle said. "He pushes me and he's so honest. If I have a bad game, he'll let me know I had a bad game."
"But he'll also tell me what I need to do next week to have a better game. And my dad also lets me know when I do well."
Although the recognition is rewarding, Settle says he will remain humble.
"It feels like my hard work is paying off, but I don't want it to change anything," he said.
"I just want to keep playing football because I love the game so much. I'm not going to get cocky."
Stonewall Jackson opens their season at home against Potomac on August 30.
Scouting Report: Settle is very explosive off the ball and plays with great leverage. He is a tremendous athlete with good instincts. When engaged with the offensive lineman, he uses his quick hands and great agility to completely overwhelm his opponent.
The Stonewall Jackson star is also a very smart and does a nice job playing under control. He takes good angles when pursuing the football and has a great motor.
Overall, Settle is just scratching the surface on how good he can become and he is already one of the top players in the country – regardless of class.
