"It was awesome," he said, "kind of surreal too. It's always been dream mine to play college football and Division-1 football, to be specific."
The process with CMU has been on-going, so this was an offer that has been in the works for several months.
"After January, I started talking to CMU a little. They contacted my football coach, Matt Ladach and he gave me their number and told me to call them. I called Coach Cummings, the offensive line coach and went to their Junior Day, so I have a good realtionship with them."
Moorman returned to Mount Pleasant for the Chippewa spring game and Coach Cummings visited the school during the evaluation period.
In addition to CMU, Moorman is hearing from a few other schools right now, including some of their conference rivals.
This summer, Moorman will look to raise his profile at camps.
"I'm going to Sound Mind Sound Body. I'll go to Michigan State to the OL-DL camp and up to Central for a day camp. I'm looking for few more. I'm looking at Toledo, Indiana, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan's is a four-day, but I might go for a day. I'm still getting a final schedule together."
