"It was pretty big getting that offer," said the 6-foot-2, 217-pound Williams. "Coach (Jay) Graham recruited me at Tennessee before he moved to Florida State and had been showing a lot of interest. I have 22 offers now."
Williams thinks highly of Florida State.
"There are a really good team and they have had a lot of good running backs," he said. "Now, I'm going to take some time to look into the school and see how the academics are there."
"I have brother who lives close to there, so I'll probably go down there and stay with him and check them out sometime."
Williams recently took a trip to West Virginia and came away impressed.
"My favorite part was getting a chance to sit down and talk to the coaches. They were telling me that they would love to have me and that they're going to keep recruiting me really hard."
He has a few trips scheduled this summer.
Six schools are at out in front for Williams at this time.
Williams said Clemson, Georgia Tech and West Virginia are the schools pursuing him the hardest.
The Hillside star is in no hurry to make his college decision.
"I want to take as much time as I can," he said. "I'm going to talk it over with my mom and my coach – they're going to play a big role helping me make my decision. I'm probably going to wait and make my decision on Signing Day."
Last season, Williams rushed for 750 yards and six touchdowns.
