Ohio State confirmed shortly after Tuesday's opening spring practice that redshirt freshman defensive end Se'Von Pittman, who was not on the field today, has been granted his release from the team.

Pittman did not play last year and was banged up last spring after enrolling early. The Canton McKinley product was a four-star player and the No. 9 defensive end coming out of high school in the class of 2012. He committed to OSU late in the process after first choosing Michigan State.
