Winfield, Amendola both active

Antoine Winfield (Tom Dahlin/Viking Update)

The Vikings' most veteran cornerback and the Rams' top receiver are both active for Sunday's matchup.

Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield likely will end up covering St. Louis Rams receiver Danny Amendola quite a bit Sunday.

Winfield and Amendola are both active, despite injuries that had them listed on their respective team's injuries reports all week long.

Winfield has been dealing with a knee injury and took more time off than ever this week. He didn't practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and was listed as questionable, although Vikings coach Leslie Frazier indicated throughout the week that the team was being cautious more than anything with the lingering injury to the 35-year defensive back. He was the only Viking listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.

Amendola, the Rams' leading receiver who was inactive the past two games with a foot injury, was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but he participated fully on Friday and was listed as probable on the last injury report. He has 51 catches for 576 yards and two touchdowns.

The Vikings made QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson, CB Brandon Burton, LB Audie Cole, OL Troy Kropog, OL Mark Asper, TE Allen Reisner and DE D'Aundre Reed inactive.

The Rams made QB Austin Davis, WR Steve Smith, RB Terrance Ganaway, G/T Chris Williams, OT Joe Barksdale, DT Matt Conrath and TE Mike McNeill inactive.
