Throughout the high school football season, BuckeyeSports.com will be following the progress of Ohio State's football commitments. Here is how the OSU verbal commitments and their teams fared Dec. 7-8.

J.T. Barrett, QB, Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider – The Barrett-less Raiders advanced to the state semifinals for the first time in school history thanks to a 33-7 victory against visiting Wolfforth Frenship in a University Interscholastic League Class 4A Division II regional final. Rider (12-2) allowed only one touchdown against a Frenship squad that came into the game averaging 38.2 points per contest. Barrett replacement Chase London threw two touchdown passes, and Carlos Fleeks rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores. Frenship ended its season 12-2. The Raiders will face Lancaster (13-1) in the state semifinal round at Justin Northwest.

Joey Bosa, DE, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas – The Raiders clinched a spot in a state title game with a 35-18 upset of previously unbeaten Bradenton Manatee in a Florida High School Athletic Association Class 7A semifinal at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. St. Thomas Aquinas (12-2) will face Tallahassee Lincoln (12-1) at the Citrus Bowl for the championship after dispatching the Hurricanes. Manatee (13-1) had won 25 straight games before falling to the Raiders, who build a 21-3 lead before cruising to victory. Running backs Fred Coppet and Madre London combined for 254 yards.

Boone; Eli Woodard, CB, Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern.
